A Solider's Request for Assistance

While the U.S. Army has surprised me in its generosity issuing us many fine and useful items for our upcoming deployment to Iraq, there are still a few things that will make my trip there as an Infantry soldier safer and more productive to our cause.

This site is where I post links to and lists of things I need, if you feel so inclined to send them my way.

The best way to quickly and easily lend a hand is to visit my Amazon Wish List, where you can choose an item and have it sent directly to me. Or feel free to contact me: globalcop at gmail dot com.

My main blog is here.

Sincerely,
Private First Class Edward McNamara
A Co. 1-18 Infantry Combined Arms Battalion
2nd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division

For More Pictures

Not sure how often I'll get back to the base to download my pics and clear my 1 GB CF card. It'd be great to have 8 GB so I can take a ton of pics.

PURCHASED: For my video and photo gear

I no longer need this item. We're loading the trains this week and I had to buy this in order to get it on time.

I need a Pelican 1450 to get my gear to Iraq in one piece. Just added to Amazon Wish List.

Helmet Light

Included on my Amazon wish list (link on right)

From the website:

HL1-A-TN This compact, multiple-output Helmet Light in tan features three white LEDs, two blue LEDs, and one blinking red infrared LED that serves as a personal Identify Friend or Foe beacon. The white LEDs are perfect for general-purpose, close-work illumination; the blue lights serve the same purpose in a low-signature, night-vision-friendly color.

It attaches via a special mount that clamps semi-permanently to the rim of the helmet by means of two socket-head machine screws. Once attached, the light can be easily slid onto the mount, where it locks into place; depressing a small lever slides it right off.
